There is no longer an official DOE sensitive subjects list. Originally compiled as a summary of export controlled technologies that may be present at DOE facilities, the Sensitive Subjects List quickly became obsolete due to the rapid advance of technology and many changes to the underlying export regulations. Subsequently, all references to the Sensitive Subjects List have been removed from the current DOE Order 142.3A, which governs foreign national visits and assignments at LBNL. Instead, to determine if your work, information, activities, and/or technologies are “sensitive subjects,” as defined under DOE Order 142.3A, you should refer to the actual US export regulations control lists and pay particular attention to the risk of deemed exports. Contact your local export liaison or Lab Export Control for assistance determining the sensitive subjects in your area.
